How do I order Nantucket Pavers products?
We are a manufacturer and unfortunately we are not set up to sell retail direct. Take a look at Nantucket Pavers Distributors List. We have a wide selection of Distributors, throughout the United States, that sell to Retail customers and also Landscaping and Masonry installation businesses. What is your recommended installation method?
Nantucket Pavers recommends using a traditional “sand set” installation method for all of Nantucket Pavers products. With this method you have greater control over your base and easier placement of blocks that may become damaged over time. Nantucket Pavers DOES NOT recommend using Stone Dust/Quarry Dust base as an installation method. Stone Dust/Quarry Dust does not allow adequate drainage of water and has also caused damage to the product due to a substance in the dust. Nantucket Pavers is not responsible for any product that has been installed with Stone Dust/Quarry Dust.
How do I cut Nantucket Pavers products?
Nantucket Pavers products can be cut with a circular saw and a masonry blade. Safety first, always use protective eye gear and dust/respirator mask. Please follow the instructions in the circular saw user manual for any additional safety recommendations.
Do the colors fade?
Nantucket Pavers use high quality pigment to color its products and manufacturers them in compliance with industry standards. As patio stones surfaces weather over time and become rougher, the original color may appear to change or soften slightly. The color is distributed throughout the entire block so it is NOT a face mix (only a portion of the block is colored).
Do the photos on the website reflect the actual color of the blocks?
The colors shown in our online photos are as accurate as photographic processes allow. It is essential for the customer to select products they want by inspecting each item for their approval in color during the daylight (if there is a local distributor). If the customer is ordering products online, they may submit an email to email@example.com with their full name and address requesting that a specific color sample be mailed to them via USPS. Mailed samples are a 6″x6″ size. This gives the customer an example of the color requested and also a look at the definition at the top of the block. We can only mail samples of Rivenstone block, Blue/Gray, Blue Variegated and Tan Variegated colors.
Can I use a sealant on my patio?
Yes. We recommend “Water Based” sealer on our Nantucket Pavers products. Please be sure to check the “finish” on the can of sealer prior to purchase. Sealers have multiple finishes, similar to purchasing paint, they have Glossy and Flat finishes. Check proprietary manufacturer’s instructions on the sealer can and be sure it is suitable for sealing concrete paving. Please note applying sealant may affect color. We recommend you try the sealant on a samples, or a limited area, in order to access the affect on the appearance.
What if I receive a Defective Product?
Should a product reach you in an unsatisfactory condition, and other than a naturally occurring one as described above, the defect should have to be apparent prior to laying. It is at this point that the supplier should be notified of such a fault, allowing time for the rejected product to be replaced. If the complaint is raised after laying the product, no responsibility will be accepted for any delays, relaying or removing costs.
Can I use De-Icing Products on my patio?
De-icing Salt is not recommended for use on these products. The use of salt can affect both the durability and the looks of the paving during continual freezing and thawing. Use a plastic shovel or stiff brush to remove snow and ice. Nantucket Pavers is not responsible for any product damage resulting from the use of De-Icing Salt.
What is Efflorescence?
Every concrete product that contains a high cement content can suffer from Efflorescence. This is a natural phenomenon which is beyond our control. The product may form patches of white which gives the impression that the color is fading, however with time the patches will disappear as natural weathering takes place. Conditions where condensation or rising ground water can permeate the concrete over an extended period, followed by slow drying, will promote the formation of efflorescence. The efflorescence will be eroded by rain, which is slightly acidic. As nature causes the problem, nature sometimes holds the cure. Efflorescence does not affect the durability and performance of concrete in question. Nantucket Pavers can not be held responsible for this natural phenomenon.
Can Efflorescence be removed?
Efflorescence can be removed mechanically by dry brushing or washing with chemical masonry cleaner. Nantucket Pavers recommends Behr Premium Concrete & Masonry Degreaser & Cleaner product for as chemical masonry cleaner. Follow the instructions that come with the bottle. Before attempting to remove efflorescence by these techniques it is recommended that trials should be carried out on samples, or a limited area, in order to access the affect on the appearance.
